Answer:Placenta is a disk like structure which is embedded in the uterine wall of the mother . It contains villi on the embryos side and has blood spaces on the mother's side . It provides large surface area for the nutrition to pass from the blood of the mother to the developing feotus and also it helps in transporting waste generated by the developing embryo into the mother's blood which is then excreted out
