placenta is the finger like projection that develops in uterus after implantation of the zygote .

placenta plays main role in the development of the developing embryo.It connects the developing foetus to the mother body and all the functioning of the foetus is occurs through the placenta .It also secrets hormone which helps in the development of foetus .

it's major role is carry oxygen and glucose to embryo and carry waste from embryo out to mother's blood
