✧ℙlacenta✧

Placenta is a tissue made of blood that develops around the growing embryo in uterus.

❧ It has blood spaces in mother's side and finger like projections called villi on the embryo's side.

❧ The villi is richly supplied with blood vessels.

❧ The nutrients and food from the mother's blood reaches the embryo through the villi which has a large surface area.

❧ Wastes generated by the embryo are absorbed by the placenta and released in the mother's blood.

❧ Placenta is necessary for the normal and healthy development of the embryo.
