Plasma is one of the four fundamental states of matter, and was first described by chemist Irving Langmuir in the 1920s.

Eg-lightning, aurorae, the excited low-pressure gas inside neon signs and fluorescent lights.

IN BIOLOGY,

Plasma is the yellowish fluid in blood. It consists chiefly of water. Other components include dissolved proteins, glucose, clotting factors, electrolytes, hormones, carbon dioxide, and oxygen.
