We used to know earlier that there are three states of matter :

⚫ Solid ,

⚫ Liquid ,

⚫ Gases .

Actually there are many more .

The 4th state of matter is Plasma .

Plasma is the state of matter which is formed at tremendously high temperatures when there is formation of ions .

The state of plasma is really useful for research and in other scientific uses .

However it is very difficult to have plasma and store plasma because it can be formed at a very high temperature only .

The Sun is mostly made up of plasma .

Plasma are charged particles .

They are hence super reactive .

They form special structures and are sensitive to magnetic fields .

They are very rarely found on Earth .

They can be observed during the lightning when there is high temperature .

They are also formed during energy release after any nuclear reaction .

In the Universe , they are abundantly found in stars .

The major portions of the Universe consist of plasma .

Plasma can be obtained from the Universe and utilized .

Hence the study of plasma is of utmost interest by scientists .
