●It is found in most organisms.(both plant and animal cells)

●It is a thin , flexible memebrane.

●It is a selectively permeable membrane.

●It gives shape to the cell.

●It is the outermost layer surrounding the animal cell whereas in the plant cell it is surrounded by another rigud outermost layer called the cell wall
