♣ Plasmolysis : Plasmolysis is a contraction of a cytoplasm actually, (of the protoplast) in a plant cell. And this contraction means, shrinking happens (occurs) due to the loss of water in that plant cell after the process of exosmosis.
Simply, plasmosis happens due to loss of water (because of osmosis) and it results contraction in protoplasts. When they are placed in hypertonic solution or in any higher concentrations of solutes.
