when the plant cell losses water through osomosis a shrinkage or contraction of the contents of the cell away from the cell wall takes place. This phenomena is termed as plasmolysis.when we placed it in hypotonic solution water molecules moves across the cell membrane then water will come into the cell. As a result cell will swell up.
