Answer: Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique Act, 1994 is an act of the parliament of India enacted to stop female foeticides and arrest the declining sex ratio in India. the act banned prenatal sex determination. rcently PNDT Act and Rules have been amended keeping in view the emrging technologies for selection of sex before and after conception and problems faced in the working of implemention of the Act and certain directions of Honourable Supreme Court after a PIL was filled in May, 2000 by CEHAT and Ors, an NGO on slow implemention of the Act. this amendments have come into operation with effect  from 14th February, 2003.   :) :) :)
