There is a very catching method in Constraint relation in pulley mass system.

If tension and acceleration are opposite in direction then it is written as - Ta1 and so on.

To remember this relate it with work done. As if force and displacement are in opp. Direction then work is negative.
Same case is follow in constraints relation.
