As we know that Pollen grains are produced in largest number, in particular in anemophilous species. They float in air and enter respiratory tracts.

  • Some individual develop allergy to them, producing respiratory disorder like rhinitis, asthma and bronchitis.

  • The top contributor to pollen allergy is carrot grass, parthenium. Which is entered in india as contaminant with imported wheat but has elaborate in all parts of the country.

  • Another source of pollen allergy is chemopodium, amaranthus, sorghum etc.
