"      The mechanism of the flowering plant in which the transfer of pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of the flower occurs in order to initiate the fertilization process, it is called as pollination. It is of two types namely, self-pollination and cross pollination.

If the pollination occurs in the same flower, or between the other flowers of the same plant it is called as self-pollination. On the other hand, if the pollination happens between two flowers present in different plant, it is called as cross pollination."
