transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma is called pollination.it is of two types 1)self pollination,2) cross-pollination
when the pollen grains fall on sitgma it leads to the foation of pollen tube because of chemotropic reactions and the pollen grain passes to the nucleus of the plant and fusion or fertilization takes place.....

the transfer of a pollen grain from the anther office cabin to the stigma of a carpel is called pollination .
They are two types of pollination cross pollination and self pollination .
i) Self pollination :- when the pollen grains from the anther of a flower are transferred to the stigma of the same flower is known as a self pollination .
ii) Cross pollination :- when the pollen grain from the answer of a flower on one plant are transfer to stigma of a flower to the another similar plant it is called a cross pollination .
Fertilization is lead to be as a sperm fuses with an egg to from zygote .
fertilization occur when the male gamet present in the pollen grain joints with the female egg present in the ovule a male gamet moves down to the pollen tube the pollen tube enters the ovule in the ovary the tip of the pollen tubes entre open the male gamets come out to the pollen tube in ovary the male gamets of the pollen combines with the nucleus of a female gament or egg present in the ovule to form a fertilized egg .
