it is the formation of more than one embryo inside a single seed . it was reported by leeuwenhoek in oranges . single polyembryony is due to fertiluzation of many eggs. e.g.-pinus ovule has 2-8 archegonia. cleavage polyembryony is true polyembryony and is very common
