  • This is a very common phenomenon in many plants and animal species.
  • There are two types of polyembryony: "Cleavage polyembryony and Simple polyembryony".
  • A classic example of polyembryony is one of nine-banded armadillos.
  • It is said so because nine-banded armadillo, gives birth to four identical young one through polyembryony process.
