Answer:

Polymers are chemical substances which are formed by joining large number of singular units called monomers.

Polymers can be split as "Poly" meaning "many" and "Mers" meaning "parts".

They are very strong and show the property of catenation to a large extent. They are used in the chemical industry to form many types of fibres and products which serve as good for man kind.

E.g. : Polyethene : Large number ethene molecules bonded together.
