A polynomial is an algebraic expression with 1, 2 or 3 variables, whereas, a multinomial is a type of polynomial with 4 or more variables.
- The examples are as follows:
- 2x^2 is a monomial type of polynomial with 1 term
- 7x - 4 is a binomial type of polynomial with 2 terms
- x^3 + 2x + 3 is a trinomial type of polynomial with 3 terms
- 3x^3 - 5x^2 + 6x + 7 is a multinomial type of polynomial with 4 terms

In general and algebraic expression which contains one or more times with non-zero coefficients and variable having non negative integral exponents ,i.e.,Power of the variable,is called a Polynomial.
Ex:-
2x+3y+4z+9
6abc
