When gypsum is heated to about 150°C it losses water and produces the powder, plaster of Paris. When water is added to the plaster of Paris powder it rehydrates (absorbs water) and quickly hardens. It is used in sculpture for making moulds and casts.
Meaning 2 -- POP stands for Point of Presence (also known as Post Office Protocol). It is a point where many devices share a connection and can communicate with each other.
