Potential difference

The potential difference is the amount of work done on carrying a unit charge from one point to another point of a conductor

Define the SI unit of potential difference

The SI unit of potential difference is measured by the amount of work done ( 1 joule) on carrying 1 coulomb charge from one point to another across the conductor

SI unit => \large\rm \frac{Work}{Charge}

=> \large\rm \frac{J}{C} \rm \: or  \: JC^{-1}

=> Volt (represented by V)

Cell or battery

Cell is a device that provides potential difference to the current carrying conductor.

A group of cells is known as battery. More the cells, more the potential difference.
