Protists are eukaryotes, which means their cells have a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles. Most, but not all, protists are single-celled. Other than these features, they have very little in common. You can think about protists as all eukaryotic organisms that are neither animals, nor plants, nor fungi.

hii buddy ...
here is ur answer....♥♥♥
★ Earnest Hackel (1866) proposed the kingdom protista.
★ it is an artificial group containing membranes without any evolutionary relationship.
it is not ur ans....it is the intro part....I m sure it will not help u...
ur ans is below↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓

♡Now come to ur questions♡:-
==========================
PROTISTA♥♥♥
============
♡(KINGDOM OF UNICELLULAR EUKARYOTES)♡
★ The members are unicellular and colonial eukaryotes
★Most of them are aquatic and constituent plankton.
★Their eukaryotic cell body contains membrane bounded cell organelles like nucleus, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi complex etc.
★They may have cilia or flagella for their movements which shows 9+2 arrangements of microtubules.
★Both asexual and sexual reproduction is present.
★ on the basis of nutrition , the protists are grouped as
(a) PHOTOSYNTHETIC PROTISTS
(b) CONSUMER-DECOMPOSER PROTISTS.
now come to some silent features. ....♥♥
===================
◆protista includes all single -celled eukaryotic organisms. some colonial forms are known without any cellular differentiation.
◆members are mostly aquatic organisms.
◆protista forms a connecting link between monera in one hand and other three kingdoms on the other hand.protistans are the ancestors of all multicellular eukaryotes.
◆The protistan cell body is eukaryotic type having a well-defined nucleus and other membrane bounded organelles. some may have cellulosic cell wall
◆They do locomotion by cilia , flagella, pseudopodia, pellicular contractions and mucilage propulsion.
eg:-Diatoms, Dinoflagellates, Euglena
protista is of three types. ..such as....
1) photosynthetic protists
2) saprophytic protists
3) protozoan protists
hope it will help you. ...
