Poverty is a situation and which people are not able to meet their basic needs.For eg-food ,shelter and clothing.

Poverty can be reduced by introducing schemes through which the poor people can buy the essentials at a lower price as compared to the market price.

For eg-ration card, BPL card.

Poverty can also be reduced by ensuring that the workers get proper wages. Sometimes virgos are even underpaid. This also causes rise and Poverty. So government officials should keep a check on this.
