Powada is dramatic narration of an event by alternatingly reciting the same lines. This is a Maharashtrian folk type of song which is sung to narrate the heroic deeds of kings, ancient heros, etc. This types of folk songs are mainly used in Maharashtra to tell the heroic deeds of chatrapati shivaji maharaj & their troops (aka malves)
