Generally in physics Power is defines as the rate of doing work or rate of transfer of energy.The unit of power is watt and denoted by the symbol "W".

2) the slowness with which work is performed.

(Both are correct alternatives)☺️

Because, energy means how much work is done. whereas, power means how much fast that work is done.
