Power is the capability or ability to perform any action or work in a particular way.In physics, power is the rate of doing work, the amount of energy transferred per unit time.
Power is a scalar quantity because it has magnitude but no direction. The SI unit of power is Joule per second (J/s) or watt which was named in the honour of James Watt a great inventor who invented steam engine. Power is denoted by capital P.
Here are the some base as well as derivative from base quantity.

Base Unit -
watt

Derivatives-
P= V×I where V is voltage and I is current.
P= F×V where F is force and v is velocity.
P= E/t. where E is energy and t is time.

Rate of doing work also depends upon power, if there will be more power, rate of doing work will be also more.

unit of power is watt.
some others unit of power.

1 kilowatt= 10power 3watt.

1 megawatt= 10 power 6 watt.

1 horse power =10power 6 watt.
