1/RP=1/2+1/12

RP=12/7OHM

V=IR

4=I*12/7

I=28/12A

P=VI

P=4*28/12

P=9.3w

that's the answer

pathak13: in my guide,ans is given 8 W
susain2001: 9.3W is correct
pathak13: ya
pathak13: ur ans is right

HeRe Is Your Ans

*****

1 / R = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2

1 / R = 1 / 12 + 1 / 2

1 / R = 2 + 12 / 24

1 / R = 14 / 24

R = 24 / 14

R = 1.714285714 Ohm

*****

I = V / R

I = 4 / 1.714285714

I = 2.33333333372222 Amp

*****

P = I × V

P = 2.33333333372222 × 4

P = 9.33333333488888 watt
