History refers to the time period after the invention of written records in a given culture or society.
Archaeology, or archeology, is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. Archaeology is often considered a branch of socio-cultural anthropology, but archaeologists also draw from biological, geological, and environmental systems through their study of the past.the study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artefacts and other physical remains.
Historically, manuscripts were produced in form of scrolls (volumen in Latin) or books (codex, plural codices). Manuscripts were produced on vellum and other parchment, on papyrus, and on paper. In Russia birch bark documents as old as from the 11th century have survived.
Examples of these can be Kautilya's "Arthasastra" and Kalhana's "Rajatarangini". These two are two historically significant books that have taken an important role in determining the social, political and economic system and condition of old India.
Coins were issued by the ruler of a country to enable people to buy goods and services. The study of coins often provides us information about the names of kings and queens of the time. Some coins also had battle scenes, faces of kings and queens, or scenes from the life of the ruler engraved on them.
