Press Conference is a type of a media event which is used to generate news and newsmakers invite the journalists for interviews etc.

It is necessary in a democracy as there is freedom of speech and expression in a  democratic society. It  keeps a constant vigil on the liberty of the people. To remove any harsh Government or to tight against dictatorship and malpractices, press serves the best.  

Press plays an important role in bringing the reality of the society to people. And it also checks if an existing government is accountable or not.

But at the same time, press must not post any unbiased news.
