Pressure is the forces exerted by particles as they bang around each other and into other things.

In physics, the simple formula for pressure is P = F/A. Or in plain words, Pressure is equal to Force per unit Area.
S.I Unit : Pascal

C.G.S Unit: Dyne/cm^2

Derivation :

Pressure = Force / Area

Units of Pressure = Newton / metre^2 ( Pascal)

C.G.S unit = Dyne/centimetre^2

Also,you may have come across atm, torr and bar.

I'll give you a short conversion of units from “Pa” to atm, torr and bar :

1 atm = 101325 Pa = 760 torr ≈760 mm Hg

1 bar = 105 N/m^2 = 750.06 torr = 0.987 atm.

Answer:

Pressure is defined as the physical force exerted on an object. The force applied is perpendicular to the surface of objects per unit area. The basic formula for pressure is F/A (Force per unit area). Unit of pressure is Pascals (Pa). ... While you sip the beverage, you're actually applying 'Pressure'.
