Conduction is the flow of heat through a substance by contact of particles.

Heat flow is a basic principle of refrigeration - in fact, of all HVAC work. For example, in the refrigeration cycle, the evaporator (cooling coil) is colder than the air flowing around it, so heat flows from the warmer air into the evaporator.
