digestion of food begins in mouth. Mouth contains the teeth, tongue and salivary glands .teeth help in physical digestion (cut into small pieces ,Grind and chew). salivary gland produce saliva , tongue help in mixing the Saliva with food and wetted food can be swallowed more easily . saliva help in chemical digestion of starch present in food . oesophagus is food pipe through which food entered into stomach through peristaltic movement . from the stomach the partially digested food enter into small intestine it is largest part of alimentary canal in humans is the site of complete digestion of food . bile juice secreted by liver help to break the fats present in food and the enzymes secreted by pancreas break down The starch and protein .
