Hey Friend,
Electromagnetic Induction is the phenomenon in which changing magnetic field lines linked with the coil, induces an electric current or emf across it.
Current so produced in the coil is called Induced Current. This current will flow as long as there is a change in magnetic field.
This process (electromagnetic induction) is used in the generator, because, if the magnetic flux (magnetic field lines) is made to change within a conductor, an emf is set up at the ends of the conductor, as long as there is a continuous change in magnetic flux.
