When an acid and base reacts products forms are \textbf{salt and water }.

Acid + Base --> Salt + Water

Such type of reaction occurs by cancelling hydrogen ions by hydroxide ions, resulting to give either a neutral, acidic or a basic salt.

Such reactions are also called neutralization reaction.
