The cells in which a true nucleus is absent and membranous organelles are absent , are called prokaryotic cells (pro= primitive and karyon= nuleus) instead a primitive nucleus may be present.

prokaryotic cells are represented by bacteria, Mycoplasma and cyanobacteria

( such as Nostoc ,Oscillatoria and spirulina)

in prokaryotic cells the ribosomes are of 70 S type..
