Preposition : -
It is a word which usually preceding a noun and pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause.
There are five types of prepositions. They are as follows : -
1. Preposition for time : -
Prepositions that are used to refer time and various aspects.
Eg : - at, on, in, etc.
Sentence : - She in 2004.
2. Preposition for place : -
Prepositions that are used for several types of places.
Eg : - on, at, in, etc.
Sentence : - They live in USA.
3. Prepositions for directions : -
Prepositions which are used to express the directions or something are called as prepositions for directions.
Eg : - into, to, towards, through, etc.
Sentence : - They are going to the market.
4. Prepositions for agents : -
Prepositions which're used to express causal relationship between the noun (doer) and an action.
Eg. By, with, etc.
Sentence : - A nice book was written by John Keats.
5. Prepositions for instruments, devices or machines : -
Such preposition are used for joining nouns (instruments, devices, machines, etc.) to other words in the sentence.
Eg. : - He went to home by a car.
