Here are some points about prostate gland:-

1. Location- It lies below the urinary bladder.

2. In man it's unpaired and is constituted with 5 lobes.

3. Each lobe gets open in the prostatic urethra via many fine apertures.

4. Slightly alkaline prostatic fluid is secreted by this which is thick, sticky, milky or jelly like material.

5. Helps in the activation of sperm and it forms about 30% part of the semen.

Explaination:-

Citric acid, phosphate and calcium is found in the secretion of prostate gland. Also clotting enzymes, profibrinolysin are also present. When secretion of the prostate gland and secretion of seminal vesicle gets combined then the semen gets coagulated. Now the coagulated semen's mobility gets reduce and that's the energy is conserved. And after because of the fibrinolysis, semen again gets liquify and then the semen can move.
