What is protista ?

The cells which are single eukaryotes are called Protista . there is very much difficulties in understanding what is protista for what is plant ? Because protest also perform photosynthesis .

Characteristics of protista :-

The protista are aquatic in nature . They have a well defined nucleus and other membrane bonded organells . Some of the protest also have flagella and they reproduce sexually and asexually . They usually float in the water currents . Most of them perform photosynthesis . They can be of various colour depending on the pigment present in their cell . Some of them releases toxic which is harmful two other aquatic animal like fish . Some of them perform photosynthesis at daytime and also become haterotrophs by breeding of other animals .
