Protoplasts are cells which have had their cell wall removed, usually by digestion with enzymes. Cellulaseenzymes digest the cellulose in plant cell walls while pectinase enzymes break down the pectin holding cells together.

Protoplasm can be easily understood as the part or matrix of cell ( both plant and animal ) except the nucleoplasm......
All the enzymes used in glycolysis have a significant importance in protoplast formation
eg. Aldolase , hexokinase , mutase etc...
