Causative Organisms : Plasmodium

Mode of Transmission : It spreads through the bite of female Anopheles mosquito .

Symptoms :

(a) Headache

(b) Muscular pain

(c) High fever

(d) Feeling cold and shivering

(e) Feels weak and becomes anaemic

Cure : Quinine obtained from the bark of Cinchona tree.

Prevention : Use proper arrangement to avoid mosquitos entering our houses, killing of mosquito larvae, breeding grounds i.e., water in ditches, swaps, tank, flower pots etc should be drained, using mosquito repellents and spraying insecticides to kill adult mosquitoes.
