what is prtiodicity in properties of elements with reference to the modern periodic table?why do all the elements of the ssme group hsve similar properties ? how does thr tendency of elements to gain electrons change as we move from left to right in a period? state the reason of this change

Periodicity refers to the recurring trends that are seen in the element properties. It means that the properties of an element can be predict if their period and group are known.n
All element of same group have similar properties because according to their electronic configuration these have same valance electron and tends towards reactivity is quite similar. For example halogens F,Cl,Br and I all have same valance electron and their property are quite similar.
The tendency to gain electron decreases as we move left to right in a period because in a period as no. of electron increases left to right in a period and shell remains same and the other hand no. of proton also increases and the atomic radius of shell decreases and gaining of an electron also decreases.
