Public Distribution System (PDS) policy. The government of India often has huge piles of food stocks like food grains that is bought from the farms. Since the ration shops sell food grains at a fair price only to BPL ( below poverty line), Antyodaya and Annapurna card holders. By this system the BPL card holders get food at low prices compared to the market prices, by this policy many people are having good and healthy food.
