What is pulmonary vein and pulmonary artery?

How are they different from other veins and arteries?

Pulmonary vein and pulmonary artery are those veins and arteries that carry blood to and fro lungs.

They are different from other veins and arteries because generally arteries carry oxygenated blood and veins carry deoxygenated blood but in case of pulmonary vein and pulmonary artery it is just the reverse.
Pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood whereas pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood.

here is the difference between pulmonary artery and pulmonary vein.

PULMONARY ARTERY :- 1.) they are distributing vessel.
2.) pulmonary arteries take blood from heart and distribute it to all parts of the body.
3.) they contain oxygenated blood except Pulmonary artery.
4.) blood pressure is high in arteries .
5.) they are deep seated in the body.
6.) they have thick walls.

PULMONARY VEINS :-1.) they are collecting vessels.
2.) veins collect blood from all parts of the body and give it to the heart.
3.) they contain deoxygenated blood except pulmonary veins.
4.) blood pressure is low in veines.
5.) they are superficial.
6.) they have thick walls.
