Purvachal range is the northeastern part of the Himalayas. They are beyond the Dihang gorge, where the Himalayas men's sharply to the south. They are mostly composed of strong sandstone.
They comprise of Patkai hills, Naga hills, Manipur hills and Mizo hills.
