Pythagoras theorem was introduced by a mathematician named Pythagoras.

It states that square the length of hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is equal to square the length of it's base and perpendicular.

(Hypotenuse)² = (Base)² + (Perpendicular)²

This theorem is only applicable in the case of a right angled triangle.
