Question is an expression used to inquire or request information for something/someone.

Is this your pen? Is a question.

Question tag, however is a clause that can turn a simple statement into a question. 

This pen is yours, isn't it? Is a question tag.

Here the statement "This pen is yours" is converted into a question by adding "Isn't it?"

For better understanding,

Consider another example-

1) Are you Arjun? (Question) While-

   You are Arjun, aren't you? (Question Tag)

2) Do you love travelling? (Question)

    You love travelling, don't you? (Question tag)

What is a question?
We all ask questions, but do we know what is a question? A question is a sentence which interrogates something, or is a sentence used to get information about it.

Question tags:
Question tags are small questions, which are asked right after a sentence, and make sure of what you said. When the sentence is positive, then the question tag is negative. And when the question is negative, then the question tag is positive.
For example-
1. He is going tomorrow, isn't he?
2. She hasn't got the book, has she?
