Jallianwala Bagh massacre=
In Amritsar, the arrest of two prominent leaders lead to a strong protest. Unaware of ban on public meetings, the people of Amritsar held a meeting at Jallianwala Bagh on 13 April 1919 which happened to be day of baisakhi festival.
Quit India Movement =
Gandhiji wanted immediate British withdrawal from India. On 8 August 1947 the Quit India Resolution was adopted at the congress session in Bombay .Gandhiji gave the people the motto of 'do or die' that is either free India or die in the attempt.
