These rays are highly energetic with small wavelengths and high frequencies. The pollution created by such radiation emitting substances is called RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION.

(A) It affects the cells of human body and may cause skin cancer.
(B) UV rays of sun, if enters the Earth, in a large amount can cause "SKIN BURN", and damage human eyes.
(C) DNA and RNA molecules and their functioning gets inactivated in human body due to radioactive pollution.
(D) Breast cancer, thyroid cancer, lung cancer, brain cancer, sterility, etc. are the other harmful effects of radioactive pollution.
