RADIOACTIVITY ---

  • the spontaneous emission of radiations from a particular substance or element is known as radioactivity and the elements are known as radioactive elements.
  • radioactive rays consists of three different charged particles:-
  1. Alpha particle
  2. Beta particle
  3. Gamma particle

example of radioactive elements is radium (Ra).

LIMITATIONS OF THOMSONN'S MODEL OF ATOM -

  1. it does not explain about hydrogen spectrum.
  2. it does not explain about Rutherford scattering experiment.
  3. it also does not explain about Photoelectric effect .
  4. blackboard effect is also not explain by Thomson's model of atom .
