Answer:
What causes rain?
Clouds are made of water droplets. Within a cloud, water droplets condense onto one another, causing the droplets to grow. When these water droplets get too heavy to stay suspended in the cloud, they fall to Earth as rain.

Rain is water in the liquid state that falls from the sky as a result of the precipitation of water vapour in the clouds. In other words, when the water vapour from the water bodies reaches the clouds they precipitate to form bigger droplets and these droplets under the action of gravity fall down as rain.
Rain is formed by the following processes:
- Clouds, which is the most important factor for the formation of rain is formed when ice or water evaporates.
- When the water from rivers moves into the oceans they too evaporate in the form of water vapour. Moreover, the process of transpiration in plants releases water vapour into the atmosphere.
- The water vapour released into the atmosphere combines with the clouds and form droplets of water, continuous process of evaporation results in bigger droplets and they ultimately fall down as a result of gravity and this is how rain is formed. This complete process is known as the water cycle.
