Defination : Rain is liquid water in the form of droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapor and then become heavy enough to fall under gravity

Hail :Hail is a type of precipitation, or water in the atmosphere. Hail is formed when drops of water freeze together in the cold upper regions of thunderstorm clouds

1.) Rain, precipitation of liquid water drops with diameters greater than 0.5 mm (0.02 inch). ... When the drops are smaller, the precipitation is usually called drizzle. See also precipitation.

2.) Hail is a form of solid precipitation. It is distinct from ice pellets, though the two are often confused. It consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice, each of which is called a hailstone. Ice pellets fall generally in cold weather while hail growth is greatly inhibited during cold surface temperatures.
