5. Members are elected directly by the people.

RAJYA SABHA-

1. It is also known as Council of States.

2. Total no. of members in R.S. are 250 members. It currently has a sanctioned strength of 245 members, of which 233 are elected from States and Union Territories and 12 are nominated by the President.

3. Length of term is 6 years.

4. House cannot be dissolved.

5. Members are elected indirectly by the people.
